Refund
Policy
This Refund Policy explains when refunds may be available for services purchased from Adventure Life, including consultations, itinerary development, destination guidance, and related travel planning resources. By purchasing our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and agree to its terms.
General Refund Principles
Adventure Life provides customized travel planning and advisory services that often involve time-sensitive work, research, and individualized deliverables. Because many services begin shortly after purchase and are tailored to each client’s needs, refunds are assessed based on the type of service purchased, the amount of work already completed, and the timing of the cancellation request.
Refunds are not automatic. Each request is reviewed in good faith and in accordance with this Refund Policy, the Terms of Service, and any specific written agreement entered into between Adventure Life and the client.
If a service has already been fully delivered, completed, or substantially performed, Adventure Life may deny a refund request in whole or in part, depending on the circumstances and the value already provided.
Consultation Sessions
Consultation sessions are reserved time slots with Adventure Life specialists and are billed in advance at the time of booking.
- Consultation sessions cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time may be eligible for a full refund or one-time rescheduling, at Adventure Life’s discretion.
- Consultation sessions cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are non-refundable.
- Failure to attend a scheduled consultation without prior notice will be treated as a no-show and is non-refundable.
- If Adventure Life must cancel or reschedule a session due to internal scheduling issues or circumstances within our control, the client will be offered either a full refund or a rescheduled session.
Itinerary Development Services
Custom itinerary development involves research, planning, structuring, and preparation of personalized travel recommendations. Because this work often begins soon after project initiation, refunds are handled according to the stage of completion.
- If cancellation is requested before any substantive work has started, the client may be eligible for a refund of amounts paid, less any non-recoverable processing fees.
- If work has begun but the final itinerary has not yet been delivered, Adventure Life may issue a partial refund based on the portion of work not yet completed.
- Once the completed itinerary or a substantially complete draft has been delivered, fees paid for itinerary development are generally non-refundable.
- Deposits paid to initiate itinerary work may be treated as non-refundable once research and planning have commenced.
Adventure Life reserves the right to determine, acting reasonably and in good faith, whether work has substantially commenced or been substantially completed for refund purposes.
Destination Guidance Reports & Digital Resources
Destination guidance reports, written travel resources, downloadable materials, and other digital informational products are generally non-refundable once they have been delivered, accessed, or made available to the client.
- If a digital product was purchased in error and has not yet been delivered or accessed, the client may contact Adventure Life promptly to request review of the transaction.
- If the wrong file or incorrect deliverable was sent due to an error by Adventure Life, we will correct the issue and, where appropriate, issue a full or partial refund.
- Dissatisfaction based solely on personal preference, where the purchased content matches the service description, does not automatically entitle the client to a refund.
Full Planning Packages & Custom Agreements
For full-service travel planning packages or any engagement governed by a separate written agreement, refund eligibility will be determined primarily by that agreement. Where no separate refund clause exists, this Refund Policy will apply.
Custom projects may involve multiple planning phases, deliverables, calls, and advisory services. In such cases, any refund may be prorated to reflect the value of services already rendered, time reserved, research completed, and documents delivered.
Where a service agreement contains a payment schedule, milestone structure, or non-refundable retainer, those provisions will control to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will generally not be provided in the following circumstances:
- The client changes travel plans, preferences, destination, or budget after substantial work has already been performed.
- The client fails to provide required information, approvals, or responses necessary for Adventure Life to complete the agreed services.
- The client is dissatisfied with a third-party provider, airline, hotel, or activity operator not owned or controlled by Adventure Life.
- Travel is disrupted, delayed, or cancelled due to force majeure events, government restrictions, weather, public health issues, labor disruptions, or similar circumstances beyond Adventure Life’s reasonable control.
- Services are suspended or terminated because of abusive conduct, non-payment, fraudulent activity, or violation of the Terms of Service.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, clients must contact Adventure Life in writing and include sufficient information for us to identify the purchase and review the request. Refund requests should include the client’s full name, the email address used for purchase, the date of purchase, the service purchased, and a clear explanation of the reason for the request.
Refund requests should be submitted within 30 days of the original transaction date unless a shorter deadline applies to the specific service type, such as consultation cancellations.
- Email requests should be sent to plan@adventure-life.org.
- Adventure Life may request additional information before making a final determination.
- Approved refunds will typically be returned to the original payment method used for the transaction.
Processing Time & Payment Reversals
If a refund is approved, Adventure Life will initiate the refund within a reasonable time after approval. Actual receipt of funds may depend on the client’s payment provider, card issuer, or banking institution.
Adventure Life is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment processors, banks, or card networks after the refund has been initiated. Any transaction fees, currency conversion charges, or intermediary banking charges imposed by third parties may be deducted from the refunded amount where permitted by law.
Chargebacks & Billing Disputes
We encourage clients to contact Adventure Life directly before initiating a chargeback or formal billing dispute with their bank or card issuer. In many cases, issues can be resolved more quickly through direct communication.
If a chargeback is initiated without prior contact and the charges relate to services that were delivered or substantially performed, Adventure Life reserves the right to provide supporting records, communications, and proof of service to the relevant financial institution in response to the dispute.
Changes to This Refund Policy
Adventure Life may update or revise this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operations, or legal obligations. Any updates become effective when posted on our website unless otherwise stated.
The version of the Refund Policy in effect at the time of purchase will generally apply to that transaction, unless a revised version is required by law or expressly agreed to in writing by both parties.
